Client Story
The World Baseball Classic Projection Show
At the 2026 World Baseball Classic, Quince Imaging helped redefine game presentation by delivering the first-ever full outfield projection mapping show in professional baseball at LoanDepot Park in Miami. The pregame ceremony, produced by Major League Baseball (MLB) and Image Engineering, transformed the outfield into an immersive storytelling canvas for the USA vs. Venezuela championship matchup, setting a new benchmark for fan engagement on the global stage.
THE PROJECT VISION
For the World Baseball Classic at LoanDepot Park, the vision was to transform the entire outfield into a unified projection canvas, executed seamlessly in a live broadcast environment.
The team navigated complex technical and operational challenges, including large-scale projector deployment, precise alignment across the field, power distribution, and synchronization with show elements and broadcast timing. Extensive pre-production planning, field testing, and on-site rehearsals ensured every visual cue, transition, and moment of impact was perfectly timed.
In partnership with MLB and Image Engineering, Quince Imaging helped deliver an immersive, high-impact presentation that set a new benchmark for projection mapping in sports.
TECHNOLOGY BEHIND THE EXPERIENCE
To bring this historic pregame experience to life, Quince Imaging deployed a record-setting (25) Christie 50K projectors, delivering the brightness and scale required for full outfield projection mapping at LoanDepot Park.
The system was engineered to create a seamless, stadium-scale canvas across the outfield—an approach never executed before at this level in baseball. Powered by advanced media servers and integrated with show control systems, the setup enabled high-impact visuals synchronized for live broadcast.
From power distribution and rigging to precise alignment and calibration, the team worked on-site to ensure flawless execution. This large-scale deployment pushed the boundaries of sports projection mapping and set a new benchmark for immersive game presentation.
IMPRESSIVE RESULTS
The projection mapping experience at LoanDepot Park set a new standard for pregame presentation, delivering a visually striking and technically complex show on an international stage.
“Thanks again to you and the entire Quince team for this project. It wasn’t an easy one, but it was spectacular- Ian Bottiglieri, Image Engineering”
