History

Starting in the late 1970s, doing thousands of “big room” shows and high-profile events, such as the opening and closing ceremonies for the 1996 Olympics, Scott Williams earned his stripes as the sole North American factory representative of the industry’s original “brightest projector”, the Eidophor. At the same time, Ron Currier managed shows such as the Ascension of Pope John Paul II for one of the industry’s early powerhouses in New York City.

In 1996, after nearly 20 years as industry associates, friends and clients, Ron Currier – by then proprietor of Currier Imaging – began discussions with Scott Williams, VP and head of SAIC’s Information Display Systems division. They brainstormed the creation of a company with a singular focus: delivering premium-quality, large-screen display services and systems for the “big rooms” of major events. In 1997, the two long-time industry leaders, with over 50 years of combined experience from hundreds of shows and events, began this company and called it Quince Imaging.

Quince Imaging’s success is evident, as it has grown steadily from its inception. Since 2002, Quince has grown in size of staff and revenue by over 500% despite a general downturn in the Staging and Events industry.
